1) Trooping the Colour
Trooping the Colour is a ceremony that takes place each June, to celebrate the Sovereign's birthday. The annual parade is full of pomp and pageantry, with the Royal troops marching past Buckingham Palace down The Mall.
2) The Proms
An absolute essential for any music fans, The Proms is an eight-week summer season of daily classic concerts, which sees some of the best classical conductors and orchestras in the world come to London’s Royal Albert Hall.
3) Notting Hill Carnival
Taking place over the August bank holiday weekend, Notting Hill Carnival is one of the world’s largest street festivals, and draws crowds from across the country and around the world. Expect to see colourful costumes, impressive floats, booming sound systems and infectious dancing.
4) Bonfire Night
While Bonfire Night is celebrated across the UK, nowhere does it quite as well as the capital. The 5th November sees the skies above London lit up with spectacular firework displays that can’t be missed.
