Since 2021 Anglia Tours has had the honour of delivering the Realities of War package as part of Soldier Basic Training. Brigadier Garner CBE, Commandant Soldier Academy, recognises the contribution of the Anglia Tours’ team in providing exceptional service and dedication to the delivery of this programme throughout the last 4 years.
It has been our privilege to support the British Army deliver the Realities of War package as part of Soldier Basic Training, since August 2021.
Over 15,000 recruits and permanent staff on 380 exercises have travelled with Anglia Tours to the battlefields, accompanied by our expert history guides. The recruits have benefitted from an insightful, thought-provoking experience which has ensured that they have understood the ultimate sacrifice soldiers and officers serving in the Army have made.
With the transition to a new model of recruiting and training soldiers to prepare them for the ever-changing realities of modern warfare, 2025 will be the final year of the programme.
We wish to thank Brigadier Garner CBE, Commandant Soldier Academy, for his kind words recognising the contribution of the Anglia Tours’ team in providing exceptional service and dedication to the delivery of this programme throughout the last 4 years.
Alison Biegel, Head of Military Tour Groups at Anglia said,
”The whole team has worked consistently with one purpose – to do the very best that we can for the recruits. We have been passionate advocates of the importance of this exercise programme and the guides have worked tirelessly to prepare the historical canvas on which the Permanent Staff could paint the picture for the recruits of the ‘timeless human dimension of war’. We are very proud of the work we have done together.”
As the leading specialist in providing Guided History Tours, we will continue to support military and cadet groups in their travel to the battlefields to tell the stories of those involved and to mark the service of all members of the Armed Forces.
