Workshop: Advertising and Marketing a Disney Product (The Perfect Pitch)

The Workshop gives students the opportunity to put some of what they have experienced in the Seminar and during their time in the Resort into practice. Divided into teams of 8 and guided by our experienced facilitators, their task is to ‘sell’ a product to the audience. A student from each team will select a box from those on the table, without looking inside. Each contains an item currently on sale at Disneyland® Paris. We are then looking for the ‘perfect pitch’. Reflecting on the 4Ps, they will need to include a description of the product, the price they will sell it for (in Euros), where it will be sold and how they are going to promote it. They then need to produce an advertisement – it can be in any format: poster, print or TV ad or a social media campaign. Teams will need to ensure their design is relevant to Disneyland Paris and respects the Disney brand. At the end of the Workshop, the teams will give a 3-minute presentation of their pitch and advertisement to the facilitators, teachers and the rest of the audience, including why they have selected their particular media format and how they consider it to be effective. They will need to be prepared to answer questions and receive feedback.
