About this trip

The Trenches are much closer than you think!

Let Anglia take your students to the front line without taking them abroad. This fully-guided tour, delivered in conjunction with our friends at Khaki Devil and the Great War Huts, has been designed specifically to enable your students to develop a deeper understanding of the events, experience and legacy of the First World War.

The tour includes:

  • A visit to restored, original First World War buildings - the ideal environment to learn about the period and with plenty of opportunities to try on the kit and handle the weapons
  • A chance to explore a large, reconstructed trench system, originally built for film and television work, and used by productions as varied as the film adaptations of 'Journey’s End' and 'Private Peaceful'
  • A guided tour of a local cemetery which contains a number of Commonwealth War Graves Commission burials from the First World War

For those schools teaching courses on treatment and care of the wounded on the Western Front, the treatment and care of the wounded British Sector of the Western Front 1914-1918.

We will be booking next year immediately on Monday and I’d love to have the same guides! Cannot thank Anglia Tours enough, arguably this trip is much better for my school as we are in a deprived area so the cost is lower but it’s also a less daunting trip for my students. Thank you again.
